Jennifer Scott may be best known as the voice of Belle in Disney’s 1991 animated feature film Beauty and the Beast, but before that, she was just another young actress trying to make it in Hollywood.
Scott first appeared onscreen as an extra in a 1984 episode of The Twilight Zone. She then made her feature film debut as an extra in the 1985 comedy hit The Goonies. It wasn’t until 1989, however, that she finally got her big break when she was cast as the voice of Belle in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

Jennifer Scott: Early Life
Jennifer Scott was born in the town of Holt, Michigan on July 8, 1966. Growing up, Jennifer loved sports and excelled in track and field. In 1984, she won a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Caracas, Venezuela. She competed collegiately at the University of Michigan and was captain of her team while attending.
In 1988, Jennifer made her professional debut as a member of the USA Track & Field team. Her first big international race was the Seoul Olympics where she finished eighth in the 200 meters. The next year she won a silver medal at the World Championships in Tokyo. In 1992 she set a world record in the 100 meters and became only the second woman ever to win two gold medals in one event (the other being Marita Payne).
In 1993, Jennifer retired from competition after winning an Olympic Gold Medal in the 100 meters final. She later returned to coaching and has worked with numerous athletes including Marion Jones, Justin Gatlin and Asafa Powell. She also founded her own fitness company J-Train which has become one of the largest female-owned businesses in America.

She is best known for her roles as Sandy Duncan on the Fox sitcom “The X-Files” and Laurel Langtry on the CW series “Hart of Dixie”. In addition to acting, she has also modeled for magazines such as “Sports Illustrated” and “Vogue”. She has been married to actor David Morse since 2001.
