The ascent to the top is not lengthy and requires 5 km of an easy hike. You can reach Chopta easily by road and it is safe. Chopta lies on the shortcut route of Kedarnath. 

You can also do a solo trek to Chopta, as Chopta receives a huge number of trekkers so you won’t find yourself alone on a mountain. The trek takes 2 to 3 hours which is not too steep so you can perform it easily on your own. 

YOU CAN MAKE A MEMORABLE DAY!  LET ME TELL YOU HOW. 

You can visit tungnath, Chandra Shila and devariya tal in a single day. All you have to do is wake up at 6 in the morning in Chopta. have some breakfast and reach the temple in tungnath by 7 or 8. rest for an hour in tungnath and you can have your second breakfast. After starting round two of the hike you can reach Chandrashila by 10 even if you walk very slowly.

witness the splendid view of the Himalayas from Chandra Shila, click pictures and feel the wind. After exploring Chandrashila, head back to Chopta. you will be down within 1 hour. You can have your third breakfast if you want to and then pack your things as you will leave for sari village which is 45 min drive away from Chopta. charge your gadgets in the village and you can have your lunch. and then start your trek to devriya tal. 2.5 km distance and you can easily cover it in 2 hours. but 4 you will be settling camps near the lake. there will be enough time for you to explore this place to the fullest.

  • you should be carrying an extra power bank or batteries.
