Calculators are now required for all mathematics courses offered in British schools. Some modules forbid the use of a calculator, while others always require a calculator. So getting good is important. I divide calculators into three categories: Basic, Scientific Calculator, and Advanced Scientific.
Basic Calculator: A calculator that most people already have at home. I need a square root button and a percentage button, at least to be useful. If you don’t know what to study only at the GCSE Foundation, I recommend not using a simple calculator. This calculator does not have the features required to run on GCSE Higher. For just a basic calculator, choose a well-known brand such as Sharp, Casio or Texas Instruments. We recommend the Sharp EL240 SAB.
Science: The majority of students, especially those who pass the GCSE Advanced Exam, need trigonometric functions, so they need an engineering calculator. Even starting 7th grade, I recommend using an engineering calculator, as the help provided by the fountain can be very important. Once again, find big names like Casio, Sharp, and Texas Instruments. The most popular calculator today is the Casio FX-83GTPlus. Available in most major supermarkets for £6-£7, it offers new features to help repeat and acquire simple prime numbers (a common topic in GCSE). Choose the FX-85GTPlus to take the exam as safely as possible. This calculator is the same calculator but with a solar panel that powers it along with batteries.
I prefer Casio, but also recommend the Sharp Write View series. Texas Instruments is also a well-known brand with little experience.
Advanced science: We recommend that students studying AS, A2, or advanced mathematics purchase an advanced science calculator. Such machines can compute several integral, sum and derivative values at a given point. All these features are very useful for pumping numbers and checking answers instead of just copying results in tests! We recommend the Casio FX991-ESPlus, which also helps with matrices and complex calculations. I have had the previous model of this model (991ES) for 2 years.

This article does not mention graphing calculators. Let’s be honest, it’s an expensive luxury, often difficult to program, and often too big to fit in a pencil case! I’ve used them in the past to turn graphics off, but they aren’t always necessary for English tests I know.

Finally, in a revolutionary invention, the world saw the first portable engineering calculator capable of doing more than simple addition and subtraction.
